CGI Virtual Deep Dive: Developing as Math Leaders & Coaches*

Supporting Your Teachers and Your School with Conceptual Mathematics

The Workshop:  This workshop is intentionally crafted for school leaders and coaches of teachers in math classrooms in elementary and middle school classrooms.  There will be pre-work for this workshop that is expected to take no more than 45 minutes.

Through this training, coaches and school leaders will develop skills in the following:

• How to develop checklist-perfect practice during CGI math instruction
• How teachers can effectively plan for strong implementation of story problems
• How to provide quality performance-driven feedback to math teachers regarding math discourse, planning, anticipating misconceptions, selecting student strategies, and supporting student-developed conjectures
• How to support teachers through the intellectual preparation process for implementing CGI

Featured Expert Facilitators:

Future Leaders Incubator is excited to partner with Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) expert Stephanie Smith, PhD to provide this one-of-a-kind training to leaders and coaches.  We strongly encourage participants to bring problems of practice, schedules, lesson plans, work samples, and questions to this session.  All participants will complete a pre-survey that will support real-time guidance and feedback during this session.  During this workshop, time will be spent discussing leadership struggles and successes, and reviewing common problems of practice.
